Stunning version, and perfect. The glorious colours that this image had at sundown could only have given rise to such beautiful midnight colours, anything less, wouldn't have been enough. Completely mesmerized by both. :-)

Ive been trying to work out soume of your techniques but this sort of 3d/rendered art is a mystery top me!

Sweetest, I think this was the first image I ever did in Vue. As you know, the original was Sunrise and I'd like to think this one is Dusk. As always, your kind words are much appreciated. :-)

James, I use as many as ten different programs to create the images you see here, so trying to figure out my techniques will be a challenge. Truth of the matter, I have no technique. I work until I see what I like and then I stop. That about sums it up. :-D

Thanks for the kind words. :-)

Oh right, maybe someday I will learn a little about this sort of art.

Is there a relationship between fractals and 3D rendering? And is that a stupid question?!

I do a little bit of freelance designing (logos, letterheads, web design) but mainly I dont stray from Illustrator, Photoshop, Fireworks etc

As far as I understand it, 3D art is a whole different kettle of fish however...

And as far as fractals are concerned... I once wrote a 10 line BASIC program from a magazine which drew a beautiful mandlebrot.. but thats where my experiance in that area begins and ends!

James, thanks so much for showing interest. You are right. 3D renders and fractals are apples and oranges. Two very different animals. Thanks to technology and loads of free software that anyone can download, creating fractals is not nearly as difficult as it once was. If this sort of thing interests you, down load Apophysis (just google it). Of all the programs I use, that is the one I use the most and keep coming back to time and time again. And it is free.

Now Illustrator is a program I would love to learn someday. Catalina Estrada does the most incredible work in Illustrator. The first time I saw her work, I almost bought the program and then I realized it was going to take me a long time to be able, if ever, to do what she does so I decided I would just admire her work and stick to the many programs I already have that I don't know nearly enough about.

aah thanks, Apophysis looks really good.. and I like the sound of the word free! I might have to DL when I get home..

Yeah, Illustrator is loads of fun (if extremely time consuming) and I agree, there are some mind blowing vector artists around.

Talking of free stuff, theres a free program called Inkscape, which you may or may not know about... It's an Illustrator style vector package.. hasnt got as many features but is still a good alternative...

James, I've not heard of Inkscape. Thanks for the heads up. I'll check that out. :-)
