After the variations on the jewel-encrusted G-string (eg 230), I'm wondering if there are many of these images that follow that pattern. Of spotting one particular jewel within a larger fractal image?

To answer your question--sometimes but not always. Creating fractals is very much like going on a treasure hunt. Sometimes you find pearls and sometimes you find rusty bottle caps. Just got to keep lookin'. :-)
