Not the place for it. I'm truly stunned by this sketch, it's wonderful, pure and simply. The pose more than anything, eyes shut, hair in her face - there's a mystery to it, makes one wonder what she is thinking, if there is some particular reason she looks the way she does, or if she is just been caught in movement for that one millisecond. Seriously wonderful - I love it!
This sketch almost never saw the light of day. Although I liked the idea of the sketch, it didn't look like Mairi at all so it was destined for the dust bin.
The original idea was she was being questioned by Shen and she was under pressure and feeling a great deal of stress. Closing her eyes and letting her hair fall in front of her face was her way to try and escape the immeadiate interrogation. At least that was the idea. :-)

This was the original attempt at Mairi. Wasn't quite what I was looking for for Mairi so onto the cutting room floor.

I thought she just came awake after a rough night. Nice style with her eyes closed...
Thanks Terry. I had fun trying to get Mairi right. :-)
