Uma, I had surgery yesterday to remove a basal cell carcinoma growth, so the cut and stitches you see here are real. The stitches remain in for one week. As always, so good to see you stopping by. Take care my friend. :-)
Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common form of cancer, with about a million new cases estimated in the U.S. each year. Basal cells line the deepest layer of the epidermis. Basal cell carcinomas are malignant growths--tumors--that arise in this layer.
Basal cell carcinoma can usually be diagnosed with a simple biopsy and is fairly easy to treat when detected early. However, 5 to 10 percent of BCCs can be resistant to treatment or locally aggressive, damaging the skin around them, and sometimes invading bone and cartilage. When not treated quickly, they can be difficult to eliminate. Fortunately, however, this is a cancer that has an extremely low rate of metastasis, and although it can result in scars and disfigurement, it is not usually life threatening.
OB, nice to see you stopping by. I'm doing just fine. In the bigger picture of life, I am blessed beyond what I deserve and a little scar on the side of my face could actually be a good thing since I'm trying to change my "sweet" image. :-D
Comic Life is a ton of fun. One of those programs I would have never picked up, but since it came with the computer, well, I just had to play with it. :-)
Oh nooooo :( It looks like it would hurt!! I don't know what I was expecting, but nothing quite that long. Did they get all of it, then? I just pray that this took care of it for you, sweet Trée...and you're still as handsome as ever...(NO grinning though, if it'll hurt you ;-)..)
Hey Phoenix, I see you figured out the "é". I think that deserves a hug and a kiss and maybe even a shower. :-)
My only fear is she didn't get it all. Whatever she cut out has been sent to the pathologist to make sure the cells surrounding what she got are all clear. Should know in a matter of days but judging from the size of the cut, I surely hope she got it all. :-D
A few years ago I had a crash on my bike and cut my elbow pretty good. When they sewed me up, they didn't get all the "stuff" out and my whole arm became infected. Within days I was in the hospital for surgery to go back in and clean it out. The idea of them cutting open the same wound again still gives me the chills. To have to do that on my face, well, I would not look forward to that. Of course, images of amber and glasses and running water might help make matters tolerable. ;-)
:-) Got home just in time myself, almost missed it and had just seen it when I wrote the above message. He was on for about 10 minutes, wearing the silliest pair of big round white sunglasses and answering questions that we were able to type in as he sat there. His usual brand of humour was present as he spoke of knowing whom one of the queries was from, that this person was one of the Blunt Party's most resourceful stalkers, that the police had been notified and that they were informed of where she lived, her comings and goings etc (all tongue in cheek of course:). He had a special announcement, he told us at the very beginning which was the reason why he was doing this and after answering some questions, went on to say that this was going to be a special preview for us, loosely quoted the ones who bought the album, attended the concerts, have welcomed and supported him, of what will be his first single off the new album, entitled '1973'. Seemed to me quite unlike any other song that we have heard by him, and the once just wasn't enough to form an opinion, which doesn't sound completely positive, but it isn't meant to be negative either in the slightest, I just didn't instantly fall for it as I have so many of his other songs. Moreover, I couldn't really hear the lyrics though. Look forward to hearing it again therefore, properly and a few times.
Hope your Friday is treating you well, hugs to you, x
Uma, I'm healing nicely and without much pain, although the meds I'm on have me feeling a bit groggy all the time and all of my creativity seems to have abandoned me. :-)
Thanks for asking. Not every day someone has a two inch incision in the side of their face to remove a cancerous growth. Your concern is very, very much appreciated. Thank you Uma. :-)
Sunshine, thanks for the update. Sometimes the best songs are the ones you have to warm up to. Women, however, you know from the first moment, kinda like that CNN post. ;-)
I had no idea Tree!... I am so sorry about this! The lenghth of the scar amde me wince! I guessed as much that it was cancer when you said carcinoma...
You will be fine soon I know! You can bounce right back to be with all those who love you! :)
Take care my friend. My good wishes & prayers are for you!
Very true, and as you and I agreed upon once, so many JB tracks if not all get better with each listen, or, :-D, to put it another way the more familiar one becomes with them, like some people. :-)
Thank you Mona. I think she did a fabulous job with the stitches and I have a feeling the scar will be very minor. In fact, I think it's going to be downright sexy! Women won't be able to resist it. :-D
Beliefs are like clothes. And this is the one I've decided to wear. Meet me in the kitchen. We have unfinished business. :-D

A little surprised at the length of the incision. I will neither confirm nor deny any and all rumors concerning how this scar came about. :-D
Hi!
Okay okay...but do tell me ...is it a real scar or one of your graphic manipulations?
Gosh..THAT looks real Real !
Take care

Well, I won't offer up the predictable answer to that one. :-)
Surprised too by the length. G pop is going to be ecstatic. ;-)
G Pop is a very happy boy. Sweet Pea, on the other hand, is in a bit of a funk. :-D
Hey -- sorry to hear. Hope you're doing well and keeping your spirits up!
I like the Comic Life shots...I just opened up mine for the first time in awhile.

Noted. I'll be very gentle, promise. :-)
Poppet, when you get a chance, check out the invite on the JB website.
Hope you got a chance to see those silly glasses and listen to the single. :-) Morning, my lovely, xo
Afraid I'm going to miss it. Please give me your full review, especially of the song. :-)
