Work in progress. The initial sketch, which I believe was version 3 or 4 and then the painting, about half way. I actually started this one from the nose and worked out.
Those eyes are just as intense and full of light in the sketch, not sure how you were able to do that. :-) Very nice to see the progress as it happened. I'm in absolute awe of the painting, makes me smile so to see it, such an enticing face.
So glad you liked the eyes. I was afraid they were too light in color and didn't look realistic. If I had to do it again, I think I would tone them down just a bit. But then again, he is hynerian and not human, so there you go. :-D
So this is how it comes to Life. I know nothing really of Art. I often wish I had learned more as a child because I do love to draw. (though they look like preschool doodles..)
Fortunately, I never needed to learn about beauty when it passed my eye. I can see it and feel it. You're work is beautiful Tree.

For what it's worth, I think they are perfect as they are. :-)

Katrina, thank you for those very kind words. Very much appreciated. :-)
If you haven't seen the finished painting, go to my main site and have a look: Decadent Tranquility
