Looks like something that would fit perfectly on the outside of an Angela Carter book. Beautiful golden gauze of protection, it does look like a pot of red/blood/life/birth with a soul/ghostly-like pair swimming around inside. the spooky version that makes no sense and should be disregarded, it also reminds me of Christmas, again courtesy of the light and golden gauze weaving around, disregard that too, witches brew, I like :-)

I just googled her too, to see what would come up and they don't seem to be the best of links in regards to the information provided. Main thing about AC was the many levels of symbolism, things are seldom at all clear and more often that not have several different meanings, symbolic in itself :). Gothicism was a feature, sci-fi too. AC was rather unique.
